Father Iden José Bello Miquilena was born in Coro, Venezuela, on June 13, 1979. He is the youngest of nine children, eight boys and one girl. He studied Philosophy at the San Ignacio de Antioquia Seminary in Coro, Venezuela, and Theology at the Santa Rosa Seminary in Caracas, Venezuela. Father Bello was ordained a priest on April 9, 2005, at St. Augustine Cathedral. After his ordination, he was assigned as parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Rosary from 2005 to 2009. Following his first assignment, he was sent to study Canon Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and was appointed Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Laredo from 2009 to 2016. Finally, Father Iden was assigned as Rector of St. Augustine Cathedral from 2016 to the present. In addition to his parish duties, Father Iden is the Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Laredo and a member of the Priest Personnel Board.
